Tahoe bears are coming out of hybernation and as I drove into our community I saw this young cub checking out bear boxes for a snack.
I thought he/she might run away if I stopped to shoot a video. Nope: The cub smelled the groceries in the back seat and focused its attention on the Costco box instead of the garbage box.
Time for me to keep moving!
Everyone loves a bear video but remember that is important to make the feel uncomfortable and to scare them away however possible. Honk your horn, bang pans, yell and scream. Once they are no longer scared of humans their future becomes bleak. If they are comfortable at incline pines then we will have our hands full fending them off of our trash, keeping them out of our cars and homes, and potentially having them enter our homes in search of food.
